During this stargazing trip, you will travel to the crater of Mount Teide at night and experience the magic of what the unspoiled night sky of Tenerife has to offer. Not only will you see 83 out of 86-star constellations during our stargazing trip, but you will literally watch the stars fall around you.
DRIVE:
We will take you to a secluded spot in the middle of Teide national park to enjoy an unforgettable and famous sunset of the Canary Islands. After only a 35-minute drive in our 9-seater private minibus from the South, we reach the Teide National Park.
PROGRAM:
While we drive up, our native English-speaking guide will take you through the history of the island, details of the volcanos, and volcanic activity here and on the surrounding islands.
You will also learn about fern and fauna of Tenerife, the history of the indigenous people of Tenerife (Guanches) and much more.
Once we have arrived at our secluded spot, you will have time to enjoy the sunset, and indulge in the Canarian Tapas which is provided for you.
After the sun has gone down, our guide will take you through the constellations, life, the universe and everything!

It varies with the time of year & visibility, but certainly the Milky Way & Orion’s Belt. Usually you will be able to see 83 of all 86 star constellations.
Can I see stars even when it’s cloudy?
Even if it is cloudy in other parts of the Canary Islands or Tenerife, you will be able to see the stars during our stargazing tour. As we will take you above the clouds, you can expect clear and magical skies. In case the weather doesn’t permit us to do this tour, we will reschedule.

We had a brilliant trip with Active Tenerife. Ben our guide was in contact with me and before our trip and was very informative about the itinerary and what to expect.Ben picked the 4 of us up from our hotel and drove us to a secluded spot on mount Teide above the clouds. He provided a lovely picnic and chatted to us about the history of Tenerife as well as the stars and the planets. We were equipped with warm jackets and Head torches.The stars and planets were a spectacular sight.We observed them with our eyes but also through a telescope.Ben was an excellent guide and was so knowledgable.It was a wonderful experience and we were so glad we choose Active Tenerife as it was smaller and more personable instead of a large coach trip.
